Teaching Yoga to Athletes – Off to Kripalu!

You probably know that not only do I love yoga, but I truly do believe yoga is the perfect compliment to running!

I’ve shared several posts here on the blog about benefits of yoga for runners as well as a few posts breaking down specific recommended poses (you can find them HERE!), but I’ve also been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to lead some specific Yoga for Runner’s classes at my local Marathon Sports!

Marathon Sports Yoga Tree

I really love Sage Rountree’s books as a resource for all things yoga and running and a few years ago I even had the opportunity to spend a weekend practicing with her at a Yoga for Athlete’s weekend at Kripalu, a yoga and health center in the Berkshires.

It was such a great weekend and I’ve always wanted to go back and do the week long Teaching Yoga to Athletes workshop with her.  Well, since I’m sure I’m going to be MUCH busier once I start physical therapy school I decided if it was something I wanted to do I may as well go now, so today (as long as I can dig out of all this snow!) I’m heading to Kripalu for a week!  (Our forecasted 5-8″ ended up being 12″+!)

Blizzard 2016

I’m not sure if I’ll have time to write any blog posts while I’m at Kripalu, but I definitely share a full recap of the week and some great yoga for athletes tips when I get back!  In the meantime I’m sure I’ll share a few tidbits on social media while I’m there so be sure to follow me on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram!

Do you incorporate yoga into your training?

What questions do you have about Yoga for Athletes?

**Don’t forget to join #BibChat on Twitter Tuesday night at 9pm for a chance to win a pair of 2XU Hyoptik Thermal Compression Tights, I seriously can’t get enough of mine!**
