Well, I’m officially done with my first semester of PT school!
I had hoped to get back to regularly blogging while I was in Boston, but school basically consumed my life in a way I hadn’t quite imagined.
I don’t necessarily think that PT school was harder than I expected, but it was definitely more work than I expected. This was basically my scene every night for the past 2 months…
On weekends when I was back on the Cape I tried to change up my scenery a bit when I could…
And the night before my finals my brain was so fried and I was so tired that I resorted to this and called it studying…
Yes. Coloring was all I could handle by this point.
There were definitely times of frustration as I adjusted to the workload and new curriculum the school introduced this year which requires a lot (A LOT!) of independent learning. I’m not sure I was keeping up with all of the material in the way that really suits my learning style best, but the good news is I can take this first semester as a learning experience and I feel like I have a much better idea of how to organize myself to be more productive and efficient with my studies going into the fall!
As for Boston…well, I was so busy with school during the week and then headed back to Cape Cod every weekend, so I didn’t get out to enjoy the city nearly as much as I would have liked, but I do really love it and I can’t wait until Jason and I can spend some time exploring when we are up there full time starting in September.

My view studying outside one morning!
Other than school I’ve still been teaching my Sunday morning beach yoga class…
…and running. A little. Ok, a very little.
I’m really looking forward to getting back on track with my running over the next month or so that I have off and figuring out my plan for the fall. I had originally hoped to add a fall marathon to the calendar, but with my lack of running this summer thanks to school and the heat and now knowing how much time school consumes, I think I may look for a fall half instead.
Well, I’m off to relax and restore after an incredibly mentally exhausting start to my summer!
But really, can you believe I am actually done with my first semester of PT school??! I can’t tell you how many times over the past couple of months it’s hit me and I’ve thought, “oh my gosh, I am actually doing this!”
Just found your blog after doing a search for pt school. It is my dream to be a pt of one day too. I like your coloring book – where did you get it? I think it could be helpful for reviewing anatomy!
Hi there! I am so glad you found my site! I have to say I’ve gotten pretty lazy about blogging since I started PT school (SO BUSY!), but I’m more than happy to help if you have any questions while you are applying to schools! I got the anatomy coloring book on Amazon, they have a few different versions, but this one is the Netter’s – hope that helps and good luck!
Thank you, I’m going to get a coloring book now and I’m sure I’ll have questions along the way 🙂 and yes, I can only imagine how crazy your schedule is, but you got this!
