OVERALL
I never want to leave Cape Cod, I love it here SO much! I’m honestly going to be so sad when we have to head back to New York.
This week was great despite the couple of rainy days we had. We made some new friends at the Marathon Sports Run Club, got out for a few paddles and had a great long run! Jason’s been starting to build up his mileage since he’ll be doing the Dumbo Double Dare with me in a few weeks so he joined me for my last 5 miles on Saturday.
I’m looking forward to checking out some of the running routes my new Cape Cod friends told me about for my upcoming long runs!
NEXT WEEK
MARATHON TRAINING WEEK 5
Monday – yoga & run club (3.5 miles)
Tuesday – cross train (bike or SUP)
Wednesday – yoga
Thursday – run (5 miles)
Friday – cross train (bike or SUP)
Saturday – 14 mile run
Sunday – rest day
I absolutely cross train more in the summer–swimming, biking and whatever other fun activity crops up. You look great on the SUP!
Thanks! So glad we finally got a waterproof camera so we can take some fun pics out on the water!
I do more cross training than running in the summer simply because it’s so hot. When I do run, it’s only a couple miles at a time.
The summer running is brutal! But then again I keep signing up for fall marathons so I don’t leave myself much of a choice!
Looks like you’re having fun! I don’t really cross train differently. Warm weather makes it easier to get out though. Definitely more doggy walks in summer!
The summer is a great time to explore different activities!! I”m so impressed with the SUP!! That’s got to take so much balance!
I feel like the SUP isn’t as hard as it looks once you sort of get the hang of it. It’s a great way to spend time out on the water though!
If you love the Cape so much why not move there? How do you think I wound up in Florida? Sometimes you just gotta take the leap. 🙂
Haha, trust me, we’re trying! Unfortunately my husband’s job isn’t very portable (you know, until they put an NHL team on the Cape!), but we’re working on it!
Um, hello Bruins???
Haha, yeah, if they were hiring his position we’d be all set : )
I would just like to say that I am super jealous and wish I could spend the summer on Cape Cod! Sounds like you’re having a blast, and getting in plenty of awesome cross-training. I do karate year-round, but in the summer, I definitely spend more time on my bike!
Oh my gosh, I love it here, dreading going back to NY! And I really need to get on my bike more!
