This past weekend Jason and I celebrated our 1 year Cape Cod-iversary.
(You can read our original post on our decision to move last summer HERE!)
We decided to splurge a bit and try to get in as many of our favorite Cape Cod things as we could to celebrate!
We went for a run on a favorite bike path in Woods Hole and followed it up with fresh fish tacos…
…I went to AND taught yoga on the beach…
…we ate lobster and went for ice cream…
…and of course spent plenty of time on the beach!
I can’t tell you how many times over the weekend (and all year long!) Jason and I said to each other “I can’t believe we live here!”.
It certainly hasn’t all been easy.
The original job I had got that allowed us to make the move up here didn’t exactly work out, and it’s been difficult juggling work, school, teaching yoga and running, but I think at the end of the day, Jason and I both agree that this was the right decision for us.
We live walking distance to the beach…
…we’ve made great friends…
…and gotten involved in our local running community by attending two different weekly run clubs…
…we braved one of the snowiest winters on record….
…and most importantly, Jason and I have gotten to spend A LOT more time together (in a place we love!) than we did in New York when he traveled quite a bit for work.
That all being said, we still have a long road ahead of us while I finish up my pre-requisite classes and hopefully get accepted to a physical therapy doctorate program.
For now we’re taking each day one at a time and making sure to take advantage of this amazing place where we get to live!
Sometimes it’s better to listen to your heart instead of your head! Quite a long time ago, I couldn’t imagine living anywhere but CT. Now I can’t believe I waited so long to move to the tropics! Everything happens for a reason chica!
My last big change was 6.5 years ago. Sometimes you just have to do it even when you give yourself so many reasons not to.
As we were about to leave DL yesterday we had yet another chat about moving out of NY. He’s still not convinced yet but I’m pretty sure one more winter and I’ve got him that much closer to moving to FL or San Diego! lol
So happy for you my friend! It can be so intimidating to make big life changes as an adult especially when it means a major job transition. Glad to see you so happy!
I couldn’t be happier for you…. Love ….. dad
I’m so happy for you!! I’m about to embark on a life change (moving to Portland) which I hope works out better than my last move! I’m not the best with change, even if I know the change will be better for me.
That is SO exciting! Portland is supposed to be such a great area, I can’t wait to hear more about it!
