Weekly Training Recap

Hello!

As I write this post I am at a hotel waiting until my flight home tomorrow morning after a wonderful weekend spent with running friends celebrating the wedding of Christine and her now husband Adam.

The entire weekend was a reminder of how many amazing friends I have met through running and blogging and how lucky I am to have been invited to share this special day with them!

RECAP (6/8-6/14)

Monday – none

Tuesday – 3 miles (run club)

Wednesday – 4.5 miles speed work (Falmouth Track Club)

FTC Yoga

Leading yoga at the end of the workout!

Thursday – none

Friday – fly to Virginia for Christine’s wedding!

Saturday – 8 miles

Christine’s mom Pam had planned a 3 mile run for the morning of the wedding complete with a “Runaway Bride” shirt and veil for Christine and “Bride’s Posse” shirts for the rest of us!

Runaway Bride

Alison (Bride’s Aunt), Pam, Christine, Megan, me, Jamie & Cyanne

Cyanne had 8 miles on her schedule for the day though so Megan and I decided to join her for a 5 mile “warm-up” before meeting the rest of the “posse” for the group run.  And let me tell you “warm-up” is an understatement…that was one hot and sweaty run!

By the end of the night between the run, walking around and dancing Cyanne’s fitbit had over 13 miles logged so we joked that we sweat, ran & danced a half marathon in honor of Christine’s wedding!

Sunday – 1 hour yoga at Lululemon

There was a Lululemon walking distance from our hotel so I went to their free in-store class and then took a drive to the Virginia Beach boardwalk for lunch – I figured I couldn’t visit Virginia Beach without actually seeing the beach!

Virginia Beach

Weekly Mileage –  15 miles

2015 Mileage – 361 miles

Overall

I can’t get over what a great weekend I had!  It’s not that I wasn’t expecting to have a good time, it’s that sometimes I have trouble believing that I can have SUCH a good time with these friends that I only get to see occasionally at races.  We joked all weekend about how when it comes down to it the longest stretch of time Christine and I have ever really spent together was about 4.5 hour while running the Marine Corps Marathon in 2013, and yet I feel like I’ve known her forever and consider her such a close friend!

It was also great getting to spend more time with Megan and Cyanne (who I also feel like I’ve known forever!) – let’s just say I see more running/ racing/ traveling adventures in our future!

Running friends really are the best friends!  Check out a post I wrote recently on Running Friends HERE.
