OVERALL
This does not look like the week of someone who is 1 month away from a marathon. It looked a lot more like the week of a student who had 3 tests and spent every waking minute studying.
NEXT WEEK (9/30-10/6)
Last pre-MCM long run coming up! I have two more tests this week, so I’ll be focused on studying again, but I’m hoping to get to the yoga studio a couple of times and get in 2-3 shorter runs in addition to my 20 miler. I’m also going to do my best to commit to 15 minutes of running specific stretching & foam rolling every day leading up to the marathon.
Look what I got – a box of socks!
Testing these Swiftwicks out for a review & giveaway coming soon!
(Spoiler Alert – LOVE THEM!)
You have a great running base, so you will be fine for MCM. Great idea to do alot of stretching and rolling leading up to your race. Good luck with all those tests!
Thanks Pam!
I just looked at my training log from last year–I had a 6-mile week and 11-mile week in the last few weeks leading up to the Philly marathon. I got the flu and missed A LOT of runs. Still managed to PR. You can do this!
Thanks Karla! I figure as long as I get my long runs in a little extra (physical) rest can’t hurt!
Everyone can afford a down week, you got this!
Can’t wait to hear about the socks.
