…I ran my first race ever!

The 2011 Wine & Dine Half Marathon.

I’d love to reminisce about what the experience meant to me and how far I’ve come since then, but unfortunately I’m busy studying for an anatomy test, so I thought I’d quickly share with you a few throw back posts from when I began running and the re-cap of my very first race (also the start of this blog!).

What got you started running?

What was your very first race?

**Starting in 2012 the Wine & Dine Half Marathon was moved to November, can’t wait for this year’s race to celebrate my race-aversary!

  1. My daughter got me started with this whole running business! My first race was a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving 2011 and I got second place in my age group! (there were not many of us!)

  2. I loved Wine and Dine! It was supposed to be my first half but I got impatient and it ended up being my third. I can’t wait to re-run it!

    • I have to admit I hated the little dangly things on the old Wine & Dine medals! They fell off on a lot of people’s (mine didn’t), but they just jingled around and made me nuts!

  3. Congrats on your 2-year race-aversary! Can’t believe Wine & Dine was your first! Can’t wait for the race this year! Very excited to be running it again. My first was a 4-miler in Central Park back in 2007. Oh how far I’ve come since then!
