RECAP (3/2-3/8)
Monday – 6 mile run and 1 hour spin class
Tuesday – rest day
Wednesday – 2 mile run & 6 minutes rowing machine
Man is the rowing machine tough! I’m going to try to add it to my cross training and build up my time on it – any tips? (Nicole??)
Thursday – rest day
Friday – 75 minute yoga class
Played out in the snow doing some yoga poses! We got almost another foot of snow this week!
Saturday – 8 mile run
Thanks to BibRave I got the chance to test out some Zensah Compression sleeves today, it was the perfect run for it because 8 miles on this snow was rough on my legs! Review coming soon!
Sunday – 4 mile run
Weekly Mileage – 20 miles
2015 Mileage – 167 miles
Overall
Jason and I are working on building our mileage up (which has been tough with all this snow!) so we’ll be ready for a spring half marathon – this week’s 8 mile run was the longest either of us has done since runDisney Marathon Weekend in January!
We’ve been struggling to find a spring half that we were really excited about, so it looks like we’re just going to be going with a smaller local race so we can do one that Jason can run for time (his first half was this January in Disney and we stopped for pictures!).
I love love love all these photos of you working out in the snow. I’m sure you are beyond sick of it but I love your positive attitude and willingness to get out there.
In terms of picking a spring half, I’m lucky that I have 2 good ones that are local and fast and flat. This weekend, I’ll be running Rock n Roll DC with no real time goals. It’s supposed to rain so that will definitely slow me down I’m sure!
Haha, thanks! I really do love being outside, so it has to be pretty bad for me to give in and use the treadmill! I’ve really been struggling to find races I’m excited about this spring – it also doesn’t help that I need to stay local since I don’t really have any vacation time at my new job yet : (
Screw the rowing machine, just go get in a real boat! IT’S ALMOST ROWING SEASON! Plus, you can sign up for the Concept 2 workout of the day and they’ll give you different things to do on the erg.
But mostly, just go get in a real boat because it’s almost that time of the year.
How the heck do I find out of there is any REAL rowing near me?!?
http://www.capecodcrew.com/ and http://www.capecodrowing.org/ come up!
Awesome, thanks! I’m going to have to look in to them! : )
June 6th is I think national learn to row day!
You somehow manage to make working out in the snow look like a blast. 🙂 I’ve dealt with it all winter, and as much as I enjoy running in the cold (mainly because I run faster, haha), I am very, VERY happy to see some of the snow starting to melt away!
Next up for me is a local 10-miler for St. Patrick’s Day, and The Love Run half marathon in Philly at the end of the month! 🙂
Haha, I really do love being outside in the snow! It’s so pretty right after it falls…it’s once it turns brown and gross that I’m not really a fan any more!
