OVERALL

Well I completed my second sprint triathlon! I still can’t say I’m sold on the whole sport of triathlon vs. just running, but the course was gorgeous so I enjoyed the race overall!

I was supposed to do a 12 mile run this weekend so I had planned on doing a run Saturday night after the triathlon to make up the difference in mileage, but I had a terrible migraine, so unfortunately that didn’t happen.  My head is still bothering me a little (what I call a migraine hangover) so I decided today should be a rest day.

I’m undecided as to whether I’ll make up that long run early this week (Monday or Tuesday), or if I’ll just keep moving forward with my original plan and not worry about it.

NEXT WEEK

MARATHON TRAINING WEEK 4

Monday – yoga

Tuesday – run (3 miles speed)

Wednesday – yoga

Thursday – run (5 miles tempo)

Friday – cross train

Saturday – 14 mile run

Sunday – rest day

What do you do if you miss a run?

Do you try to get it in or skip it and keep going with your plan?

  1. It depends where I’m at in my training plan as to whether or not I make up the mileage. If I’m already confortable with that distance and I’m currently racing, I don’t really worry about it. It’s not like you’re curled up on the couch in the fetal position doing nothing. Oh wait, we BOTH were last week! (insert sad face here) I wouldn’t worry about it with all the activity you’re doing. 🙂 And AWESOME-SAUCE finish photo! 🙂

Leave a Thought!
