I was so excited to finally get to try arial yoga and I really wanted to love it, but let’s just say it is DEFINITELY not my thing! I love the idea of being suspended in air, but I didn’t exactly take into account how seasick the swaying would make me feel…especially in inversions! I have issues with getting lightheaded in inversions as it is, so this was pretty rough for me, glad I tried it though!
Sunday – 10 mile run
Weekly Mileage – 16 miles
2014 Mileage -311 miles
OVERALL
I’ve been on the Cape for a week already and I can’t tell you how much I love it up here! Everything just sort of slows down.
I love being able to practice yoga outside on the beach and on my paddle board and I’m enjoying the change of scenery for my runs – I just wish the humidity would back off, it’s been brutal while running!
NEXT WEEK

Have you ever tried something new expecting to love it…
and found it wasn’t really your thing at all??
LOVE your swimsuit! Yoga on a paddle board looks like fun!!
Thanks! Just about all my bathing suits are Athleta – cute, but sturdy enough for paddle boarding and yoga!
That aeriel yoga is crazy looking! I’ve never heard of that before – I think I’d be too scared to try it, but I’d still like to do a triathlon one day.
I’ve always really thought I’d like arial yoga, they have it in NYC for sure but it’s usually kind of expensive.
You are such a badass! My goal for this summer is to try SUP but something tells me it will be a while before I’m doing yoga and back bends on the board. 😉
Haha, I don’t know about badass…I’ve been doing a lot of yoga and paddle boarding, but honestly my running has been brutal, I am so nervous for fall races!
YIKES! That looks crazy! I’ve tried tons of things that I really, really WANT to love, but I just couldn’t get into it. Eh, you tried, right? 🙂
Exactly! To each their own, right? : )
What training are you using for your marathon? I want to run another but after my SI joint issue I’m afraid to run too much. I like that yours is 3 days a week. Well for this week anyway.
It’s the Run Less, Run Faster plan, it’s 3 runs a week + cross training. The key is sticking to the prescribed paces which I have to admit I’m terrible at!
I definitely need to look Into that. My chiro said cross training will be key for me so I need something that allows for that.
Here’s a post Amanda (Run to the Finish) just wrote about this training plan if you want to try it! http://www.runtothefinish.com/2014/07/Reviewing-first-marathon-training-method.html
I’ve never done sup yoga…or even regular sup, but I’d like to. Sorry the aerial didn’t work out…but then again, yoga is tough enough on the floor!
You could definitely do some cool stuff in the arial yoga hammock things, but man did it make me feel sick! Oh well, at least I got to try it! And SUP is a lot of fun, definitely try it if you ever get the chance!
What an AWESOME pic on the paddleboard!! Looking to try SUP here too as it seems EVERYONE is doing it. Looks fun!
Looks and sounds like you are having a great summer so far! Ugh to humidity. I am not a fan. I find yoga difficult enough, let alone adding in the aerial part, but that’s great you gave it a try. I think I would get sick as well. I’d really like to give paddle boarding a try, looks like a great workout. Enjoy your week!
You make the SUP yoga look so easy 🙂 Exctied for your next tri!
