OVERALL

20 miler, 2 shorter runs and yoga twice – works for me!

I took Madison for a short walk to move my legs around after my ice bath and I’m pretty sure she was totally mortified to be seen with me in this post-run outfit I put together!  (black CW-x compression pants, pink Pro Compression socks and green crocs for anyone who’s interested in replicating the look!)

NEXT WEEK (9/23-9/29)

Workout wise it’ll be a recovery week with a few short runs and some yoga, but with 3 tests this week my main focus is going to be studying!

By the time the week is over Marine Corp is going to be less than a month away!

Photo of the Week!

Take a look where Jason is for work right now – Banff, Canada.  How gorgeous is it!?!

Unfortunately he hasn’t had too much time to explore, but he does keep saying all the mountains remind him of the Matterhorn!

  1. Nice job with your 20 mile run Danielle. I wish you lived close to Christine so she had a runner companion for those awful long runs! PS Banff looks gorgeous.

    • Thanks Pam! I know, it is so much easier to have a companion for these really long ones! It was nice knowing Christine and I were out doing our runs at the same time yesterday though, that was encouraging!

    • Thanks Sara! A little tip Christine from We Run Disney told me that really helps is to fill the tub with the cold water and get in that first and once you’re adjusted to that add the ice! It really makes it more tolerable!

  2. Love your site – wish I could bring myself to do ice baths! I know they really help but I guess I am just scared of them LOL

  3. The outfit is awesome! Congrats on the 20 miles! And totally jealous of his business trip location, looks beautiful! The only time I ever had to travel for work was to go to Syracuse :/

    • Thanks Kellie! He travels A LOT for work, unfortunately he’s usually in and out the same day (or at most there for 1 night), but he’s working the entire time so never gets to see anything!

  4. I don’t do ice baths because I don’t have a bathtub but let’s be honest I probably wouldn’t do them even with a tub… I have my doubts about how well they work…

  5. I’m so impressed by people who take ice baths!! I’ve never been able to bring myself to do it. Closest I come is after a run at my mom’s, I hit her community pool, which isn’t heated and usually around 70 degrees. That’s all I can take! Do you feel a big difference with the compression gear? I’ve been thinking of trying some.

    • Oh I totally believe in ice baths AND compression! I wasn’t sore Monday morning at all! I’d say if you’re not up for ice baths at least give compression pants a try, they feel so good after a long run!

    • Yes! I totally love my compression pants for after a really long run, I definitely think they make a difference! And I know crocs are so NOT COOL, but I love mine (and they really are the perfect dog walking shoe!).
