OVERALL
LOVED being able to get to my favorite Tuesday morning yoga class after being out of town for most of the summer, but boy was it hard! I can’t be sure, but there’s a chance I sweat more than I did on my 16 mile run last weekend (take that people who don’t think yoga can be a workout!).
I had been hoping to finish this week with a strong long run to convince myself I was ready to try for a PR in Disneyland next weekend, but my run on Saturday was anything but. My legs felt totally dead and my knees and left hip flexor were really bothering me – not exactly what I was looking for.
NEXT WEEK (8/26-9/1)
DUMBO DOUBLE DARE! The next couple of days I’ll do laundry and pack and we (Jason, my mom, my sister, her boyfriend and I) fly out early Thursday morning! I’m looking forward to meeting some of my “blog friends”, so if you’re going to be in Disneyland be sure to let me know so we can try to meet up (twitter – @dnardi710).
As for a PR attempt, I’m thinking unless I wake up Sunday morning and my legs feel amazing and the weather is perfect I may not push myself and I’ll wait until I’m better prepared.
Weekly Dose of Maddie!
This is Madison playing one of her favorite games – POOL FETCH!
She throws her bone in the pool, and we have to fetch it for her!
(She has us well trained.)
Nicely done! I’m starting to incorporate yoga into my workouts. I already see an improvement.
So glad to hear you are seeing the benefits of incorporating yoga into your fitness routine!
If you’re ever interested I’d be happy to write a guest post for your blog on the benefits of yoga for runners for you to share with your readers, let me know! – Danielle
Danielle – that’s perfect! I would absolutely love it. I have wanted to try yoga for years and I just never got around to doing it. Then this studio just opened up down the road and now I can’t get enough of it. I was so tight and that was causing a lot of problems with my stride – I feel that it is helping me – so yes guest blog!!:)
Great! I should have time to get you something this week before I leave for California, I’ll send it and a few pics to the e-mail address on your blog!
Thanks!!
Your anniversary photo is adorable. I can’t wait to meet you in CA! We are also flying out on Thursday morning and will be at the park that afternoon! It’s funny how our dogs have us trained! Our little Lulu can pull some stunts on her humans too, but she is not allowed to have toys out by our pool!
Thanks Pam! We usually let Madison have toys out by the pool for a little while since she looks like she’s always having so much fun, but when we’ve had enough of fetch we take them back inside : )
I am really looking forward to meeting you and Christine too!
Happy anniversary!
Love your dog! Happy Anniversary! And PRs always happen when you’re least expecting, so just got out there and have fun! Oh, if you see me collapsed on the course some where, please drag me across the finish line…if you’re not going for a PR 🙂
