In honor of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day today (you knew that right?!?) and this Friday marking 6 months until the 2014 New York City Marathon, I thought it would be the perfect time to kick off my fundraising for North Shore Animal League as part of Team Animal League.
North Shore Animal League, located in Port Washington, New York, is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization and has rescued over 1,000,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens since they began their mission in 1944.
I’ll actually be taking a tour of their facility this afternoon and I’m looking forward to sharing more information and pictures with you tomorrow!
As you may know my husband Jason and I share our lives and our home with our mini dachshund Madison. She’s there to greet us when we come home, she’s excited to join us on walks, she knows when one of us isn’t feeling well and she’s always the best medicine!
Madison has made our little family complete and we can’t imagine our lives without her. I know there are so many other amazing pets out there who not only deserve a good home, but will bring so much love to their forever families. I am running as part of Team Animal League to give them that chance.
I am honored to be running my 5th full marathon to benefit North Shore Animal League and invite you to join in supporting this wonderful organization by making a contribution to my fundraising efforts by visiting my personal fundraising page.
As I mentioned, tomorrow I will be sharing some information and pictures from my tour of North Shore Animal League’s facility and by Friday I’m hoping to have the details worked out on an awesome prize for one of my donors to win! (**please note, if you donate before Friday you will still be entered to win the prize!)
