Just a quick review of the goals I set for myself for 2013 and a look at some of the year’s highlights…
Running/ Fitness Goals
Run a Non-Disney Marathon
Done! I ran the Marine Corp Marathon in October, what an amazing experience! I’d love to do this race again someday. So many races so little time (and money!).
Start Doing Speed Work
Meh. I started doing speed work a few months ago, but sort of cut it out when I got into Dopey training since I was more concerned about distance vs. speed.
The real point of this goal though was to help me run a sub-2 hour half marathon…which I did back in March at the NYC 13.1 along side my friends (Pacer) Pat and Dan!
Run 800 Miles
Done – I finished off the year with 842 miles of running. (That’s over 130 more miles than last year!)
Triathlon
Nope. Never got around to this one, but it’s definitely going back on the list for 2014.
Personal Growth
The 5 Year Plan
Not sure where I landed on this one. The year started off well and I’ve completed 6 of the 12 pre-requisite classes I need to apply to physical therapy programs, the problem is I’m not really sure I want to apply to physical therapy programs any more.
It’s not so much that I don’t want to do physical therapy as that I really hate being in school (I wrote a post about it a few months back). This one’s going to require a lot of thinking in the next few weeks while I decide how I’m going to move forward.

There you have it, my 2013!
I think I’m going to wait on posting any 2014 goals until after Dopey is over. It just feels like completing Dopey is part of 2013 and I’m not quite ready to define or focus on any new goals until that’s over.
Congrats on a great year! I hope 2014 is just as great for you!
Thanks Cyanne, it was definitely a great year running wise for me, looking forward to some new races and hopefully some PR’s in 2014!
Congrats on an awesome year! It’s so cool to be able to look back on everything you did last year…I did the same, and really couldn’t even believe that I packed so much running into 365 days, haha.
Looks like you nailed your running goals in 2014. Congrats!
Great job on accomplishing (pretty much) all your goals! I’m sure you’ll be even more successful in 2014 🙂
