Weekly Mileage –  9 miles

2013 Mileage – 6 miles (starting off 2013 a bit slow, but it’s a taper week!)

Overall – Definitely not as much running as I would have liked, I got a bit lazy and was so turned off by the cold weather this week.  I’ve been trying to spend some time at the yoga studio to get in the rest of my observation and assist yoga classes I need to officially finish my certification.

NEXT WEEK (1/7-1/13)

It’s here – Walt Disney World Marathon Week!  There are so many things I am excited about for this weekend, but I am also super upset that Jason won’t be able to be there.  We had our fingers crossed that he’d be able to come, but this silly little thing called the NHL decided they’d stop fighting and starting playing hockey again just in time to ruin that plan.  And it’s his birthday while I’m down there too : (

Ok, enough of that or I’m going to start getting upset about it again.  My flight down to Florida is Wednesday afternoon so I really need to finish up my packing…there is so much to bring when you’re traveling for a race, let alone 3 races!  And, on top of that the weather is now looking like highs of 80 degrees on race days which could be bad news towards the end of the full marathon (and it’s making me totally re-thing what I was planning on wearing!).

I will be wearing my #imagreatist tank for either the 5k or half though so keep an eye out for me!

The word of the week is HYDRATE!  I’m going to make sure I’m drinking TONS of water this week and foam rolling and stretching everyday…need to make sure my body is ready for a 42.4 mile weekend!

Wish me luck, and stay tuned for updates on all 3 races!

  1. Good luck! I’m sure you’ll be awesome! I can’t wait for the recap so I know what to expect in 2 years…

And I’m sure it won’t make you feel any better, but I know that if/when I do the goofy my husband (well he will be by then lol) won’t be able to make it either 😦 The 1/2s I’ve run in so far have been conveniently around school breaks, but January doesn’t have anything. I haven’t done a race or a trip by myself yet and I don’t know if I’m strong enough to handle it. Sorry, didn’t mean to get all sad…point is,YOU WILL ROCK THIS and everyone who knows you or reads your blog knows it 🙂 You can do it! 🙂

Side note: your dad is awesome. Every time I read his comments, I just want to go “awwwwwwwwww”

    • I know, I have to remember to be thankful that Jason was able to see my first marathon last year…not sure if you’ve read that post, but he wasn’t supposed to be able to come and Friday he found out that he was going to have Sunday off, so he flew down Saturday after work, got up at 4am to see the marathon and then flew home after the race!

I’ll let me dad know you enjoy his comments : ) I am very lucky that my family is super supportive of everything I do (going back to school, running, traveling to races!).

      • Wow, that’s awesome that he was able to do that…I know you’re bummed about this year, but I’m sure he’ll be staring at his runner tracker the entire time and cheering for you every time he gets an update! 🙂

Also, I actually started my blog! I think it’s mostly rambling and very much still a work in progress, but at least I started. Thanks for the motivation! Willrunforears.com…in case you’re really bored one day 😛
