Weekly Training Recap

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who replied to my Thoughts on Joining a NYCM Charity Team post.  It was helpful to hear all your thoughts on it and I have to say for now I’m fairly certain the New York City Marathon won’t be on my calendar for this fall – and I’m 100% fine with that!

There are so many great races out there I’m sure I’ll have no problem finding one to do (…I’m actually pretty sure I know which one I’ll be doing!).

OVERALL

Not a strong running week at all.  It amazes me how I can run a PR half marathon one weekend and the next my 5 mile run feels near impossible!

I had two good swims this week, but I really need to work on putting together a more focused swim workout rather than just get to the pool and just swim for as long as I feel like!

Next weekend I’ll be heading down to Washington DC for the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run!  Stop back tomorrow for a look at my plans for the weekend!

  1. I miss swimming!! I need to find a pool near me. Oooh, have fun in DC – it’s on my “life list” to make it to DC to see the Cherry Blossom Festival.

    • The only problem with planning to go see the Cherry Blossom Festival is that apparently the Cherry Blossoms aren’t always cooperative! Fingers crossed they’ll make an appearance this weekend!

  2. I really need to take you up on that swimming offer…well, once I won’t traumatize people with the sight of me in a bathing suit lol

And you get on me for not tapering before a race, well the same thing with post race running missy! Especially after running a PR your legs are going to be a little off because they need to rest 🙂

Leave a Thought!
