Hello friends, I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving!
You may remember that a few months ago I had the opportunity to try out and review a pair of Plantronics BackBeat FIT Wireless Headphones, and let me tell you I LOVE them!
I use them daily (and not just for running!) and have no intention of going back to headphones with pesky wires, so I was really excited when BibRave partnered with Plantronics and asked me to participate in a Thanksgiving week giveaway!
Plantronics asked a few of us BibRave Pro’s to write about ways to beat holiday stress and how Plantronics can help.
The first thing that came to mind for me was the benefit of being able to have my headphones on and NOT have wires getting in the way while I’m holiday shopping.
And let me tell you why this is so important to me…
A few years ago I was out shopping and had my headphones on with my phone in my pocket, I was rushing around because I was heading out of town that afternoon and my headphone wire got caught on something, out flew my phone landing face down on the pavement…
Yup. Completely smashed.
The rest of my afternoon consisted of getting to an Apple store ASAP to get a replacement phone before I went away.
Not exactly how I planned to spend my afternoon.
While the holidays shouldn’t be all about presents, gift giving is a part of most families holidays and unfortunately it can definitely end up being stressful.
To make holiday shopping as stress free as possible I always start a list on my phone as early as possible and make sure to jot gift ideas down for friends and family whenever I think of them throughout the year, so come shopping time I’m not stressing about what to get everyone!
I’ve also traditionally done a lot of my holiday shopping online and jumped at Cyber Monday sales and free shipping offers (MUCH less stressful than fighting black Friday crowds!). But, while I love the convenience of holiday shopping online, this year I also plan on trying to support some local businesses at an upcoming holiday shopping event that features all local Cape Cod vendors!
Whether it’s holiday shopping or a trip to the grocery store, I love being able to shop without the hassle of a wire while I multi-task and either chat away on the phone, listen to a podcast or even study (yes, I actually listened to vocabulary podcasts while I was studying for the GRE’s!).
I can also keep my phone accessible in my pocket to check my shopping list or text family for sizes without having to worry about catching a wire on anything and ending up with another smashed phone incident! (Although let me tell you, my phone could certainly use being upgraded so it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world!)
And come wrapping time I can have my hands free and not tangled in wires while I make my presents look pretty! (Not that having my hands free really makes a difference, I am the WORST wrapper ever, it looks like a 5 year old wrapped them!)
And if you’re still stressed, well you could always throw on your headphones, put on some Christmas music and get out there for a run!

This is so great! I usually try and beat the holiday stress by running or CrossFit (when injuries allow) so I’m a little off my game. But I usually find listening to Christmas music and watching my OLD christimas VHS (complete with 80s commercials) helps…oh and I love wrapping presents…if you want any help lol
Usually running or taking a nap help relieve stress.
I beat my holiday stress by turning on the Christmas music and singing along.
I beat stress with a cup of hot tea and a book
