I’m not sure if I had mentioned it before or not, but a few weeks ago some friends and I entered the lottery for the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run and this morning we found out WE GOT IN!
I’ve heard great things about this race and had been looking for another race in DC since I loved running through that area during the Marine Corp Marathon and can’t wait to do it again!
Time to book a hotel and make some dinner reservations! And I’m hoping I’ll have more time to do some DC touristy stuff since I won’t be as concerned about “saving my legs” for a 10 mile run versus a full marathon!

I’m definitely looking forward to it. Hopefully the Cherry Blossoms will be in bloom this year, I heard last year it was too cold and they weren’t out yet!
So cool, congrats! I hope to enter the Nike’s & Cherry Blossom lottery next year since we are moving to Maryland! I was told that if you enter the Cherry Blossom 3 times you automatically get in the following year so hopefully I will get in before we move again:-)

this must be amazing! I love DC in general, but DC this time of year is perfect. Also, I’m convinced everyone in DC is a runner. Everytime I’m there it appears to be a very active city, but I would probably run more often if I lived in a place that offered that much to look at 🙂 You’re going to do great! congrats!
I agree, I would love to live in an active city that has so many great places to run! I am so bored with all my usual running routes.
Fear not, I will be on Cherry Blossom watch and will give you regular updates about their status. I haven’t entered the lottery before, but I might volunteer this year.

I’ve never seen the cherry blossoms in DC! Really hoping they’re bloomed for the race this year!
Congrats!! I ran it in 2012 and it was awesome. I’m not usually a fan of DC, but this was the race that changed my mind. Hope you enjoy it!

I ran Cherry Blossom last year since and it was a great run. It was so freezing though….So, I will keep my fingers crossed that you will have warmer weather and cherry blossoms to take advantage of while you are there!
