RACEDAY Book Review and Giveaway!

As a relatively new runner who considers every race a huge accomplishment (not too long ago running a mile was a huge accomplishment!) I love to document each of my race experiences and the blog has been such a great place to do that!  But I still had race bibs, event programs and other things (keepsakes to me, trash to others!) that I really wanted to keep and wasn’t quite sure what to do with…until I found RACEDAY Books!

RACEDAY Books are runner specific scrapbooks for up to 10 races that have places to list your race statistics, put your race bib and other memorabilia and then 2 pages (for each race) for pictures!  Each 10″ x 12″ book is wire bound and has an elastic closure to keep everything secure.

RaceDay 1I immediately ordered one when I found them and got to work putting in all of the stuff I had been holding on to that was piled up on my desk.

I love that I can organize all of my race keepsakes without really having to do all the work of scrapbooking!  I was able to include all of my race bibs, event programs and final instruction sheets, park maps and tickets (since a lot of the races I do are at Disney!) and LOTS of photos!

(To all my runDisney friends – how great is this for all of those character photos!!)

These books are perfectly tailored to runners because RACEDAY founder Lauren Kapeluck is a runner herself, so she was able to utilize her degree in printing and packaging sciences (ummm, how cool a degree is that?!) and her love of running to develop the ideal race memory book!

As I was starting to put together this post to share this wonderful find with you I, on a whim, e-mailed Lauren and asked if she would be interested in spreading a little holiday cheer and give away a RACEDAY Book to a Live, Run, Grow reader (because come on, isn’t this the perfect holiday gift for any runner??)…and guess what?!?  She said yes!

So, here’s your chance to win your very own RACEDAY Book!  (a $55 value, winner can choose between the pink or green):

  1. I love this post. I am also “new” to running and was just wondering what to do with all my bibs and other stuff I have collected. This is a great product. I have become addicted to Disney races! Just ran the Wine and Dine and am training for the Princess!

  2. I liked it on facebook and I shared the link to this page on facebook too.

I know I’ve bored you with the story before, but my favorite race was this past Wine and Dine half marathon because I ran it with my dad. I’m a Daddy’s little girl, and the feeling running with him, how far he’s come (both literally and figuratively lol), just amazing. Plus, as a Disneyholic I LOVED getting to run through 3 parks…and it was my first time in the Animal Kingdom after dark!

Btw, your book looks fantastic. Great job! I’m also very jealous on your finishing times lol I wish I had known these things existed before I threw away 1/2 of my race keepsakes! (I still have my bibs tho!) I may have to put this on my Christmas list…

    • Haha, I felt like a hoarder keeping all my race stuff and not knowing what the heck to do with it…this was the perfect solution! If you have your bibs at least this is perfect! Definitely a good Christmas list item (if you don’t win it first!).

    • Kellie – if you leave a separate comment for FB like you will have an extra entry to win, each comment counts as 1 entry, you can also share on FB and let me know for a 3rd : )

      • Thanks! I’ll take all the entries I can get! lol I shared the link on my facebook page (even got a like!). Not to sound like a completely dummy, but my comment on facebook goes on the Raceday page, my page, your page? I’m Dopey, I know.

    • I agree, the night time Wine & Dine race with the after party really is such a great concept…I’ll always have a soft spot for that one since it was my first race ever in 2011!

  3. My favorite race has been The Color Run. I was able to run it with my hubby and he didn’t even notice he was running since we were having such a blast trying to get as much color on us as possible 🙂 But the Disneyland Half Marathon is a close second, seeing as it was my first half marathon and it is DISNEY (DUH!) [I already have the Tinker Bell and Princess on my list of upcoming races :)]

    • I loved the Disneyland Half Marathon too (plus it was the perfect excuse for my first trip out to Disneyland!). I’d love to try one of those color runs, they look like so much fun!

  4. Thanks for posting this on the Team #runDisney facebook page! I love these Raceday books and hadn’t seen them before. Hoping to win this one! I liked them on facebook 🙂

  5. Entry #2! Favorite 5K this year was The Color Run. Such a fun production, had a great time getting as colorful as possible! Favorite half marathon was the Wine & Dine this year for several reasons: First night race I’ve done, the weather was amazing, and I helped a good friend slowly but surely complete her first half marathon. That felt great! And she loved it so much she is also doing Princess half with me in February 🙂

    • I love Wine & Dine, it’s such a unique race starting at 10pm with the after party in Epcot! It was my first race ever last year! Good luck to you and your friend at Princess, that one’s on my to-do list for sure!

  7. i just did my first 5k a few weeks ago and about to do my 2nd so right now i only have 1 favorite …lol.. finished all 3 task above 🙂

    • Hi Shelia,

Congrats on your first race! Also, you need to leave a separate comment for each of the tasks for them to count as 3 separate entries…just want to make sure you get all the chances you can!

  8. I like Raceday on FB!
Although, I have to admit, this would be a Christmas present to myself as I have really been wanting one of these books to give me the kick in the butt I need to start racing (I am a runner but have never raced before). You can’t have an empty race memorabilia book sitting around for long…

    Thanks for holding the giveaway!

  9. OK, so I know I posted this already, but here it is, in 3 separate comments because I’m an idiot who didn’t do that in the first place. (sorry, my brain doesn’t function this early!)

    I liked it on facebook.

  10. And last but not least…

My favorite race was this past Wine and Dine half marathon because I ran it with my dad. I’m a Daddy’s little girl, and the feeling running with him, how far he’s come (both literally and figuratively lol), just amazing. Plus, as a Disneyholic I LOVED getting to run through 3 parks…and it was my first time in the Animal Kingdom after dark!

  11. My favorite half marathon race, to date, is the Gulf Coast Half Marathon in Mandeville, LA. Not only was it my first ever half marathon (great memory)…it was small, scenic, and the staff was great!!!

  12. Favorite race so far, marine corps marathon 10k because of the emotions you feel as you run for and with marines who have fought for you. Seeing all of the in memory and honor of shirts. I almost cried like four or five times.

  13. my favorite race? yikes, probably Hershey Half Marathon. It was so hilly and so hard, but I PRd and my mom n dad were at the finish line for the first time ever, so it was very special to have a pic of me with and them after the finish!

    • Oh I agree, it definitely makes the experience special when you have friends or family there cheering you on! My husband was able to fly down last minute to see my first marathon and it meant so much!
