Off to my first day of Yoga Teacher Training class, definitely nervous since I’m not exactly sure what to expect!
RECAP (9/24-9/30)
Monday – rest day
Tuesday – 3 mile run
Wednesday – last day at work : (
Thursday – flight to Florida!
Friday – 3 mile run (in the Saratoga Springs gym, too hot outside!) and the Tower of Terror Expo to pick up my race stuff!
Saturday – Tower of Terror 10 Miler! A horrible, terrible, hot and humid 10 miles that I somehow still managed to finish in 1:46:46. NOT my most pleasant race experience!

Yes, I contemplated giving up and having these guys dig my grave, but I didn’t! I kept going on got my ToT medal!
Sunday – flight home to New York!
Weekly Mileage – 16 miles
Monthly Mileage – 81 miles
2012 Mileage – 415 miles
Overall – Well, my mileage wasn’t what it should have been, but my quick trip to Florida was great! I’ve decided to look at the horrendous 10 mile race as a character building learning experience! I’ve been fortunate enough to only have raced in good weather conditions up until now so it was probably good preparation for Goofy to really be challenged both mentally and physically (and better a 10 mile distance than a half or full marathon!).
NEXT WEEK (10/1-10/7)
I start yoga teacher training today which means at least 3 days a week in the yoga studio! This week will be all about settling in to a new routine and figuring out how to best still get in all of my runs with my new yoga schedule, I’d really like to be getting in 20+ miles a week moving forward.
Enjoy yoga teacher training! I’m looking forward to hearing about it. It’s something I’ve thought about doing, but do you need to have had a steady yoga practice for a certain length of time?
Day 1 went really well! We started off the morning with intros and then did anatomy in the afternoon.
As far as how much experience you need it’s probably different at every studio, I just talked to the owners of my studio before I signed up to make sure it was a fit for what I was looking for. There are several people in the class who are doing it just to deepen their practice and not necessarily to teach. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Good luck with the Yoga instructor classes ….
Can’t wait for my first lesson!
