A few weeks ago Kiss Me Organics reached out and offered to send me a package of their Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder to try. I LOVE green tea, but I had no idea there were different kinds or that it even came in powder form, so I was definitely interested in checking it out!
You can see on the package above all of the amazing benefits of this tea, but I was most impressed with the bottom one, “137x the antioxidants of brewed green tea”. Wow! Apparently this matcha green tea is used in powdered form because it uses the entire leaf which dramatically increases the nutritional content!
Along with your order Kiss Me Organics will e-mail you a PDF recipe booklet with over 50 recipes using matcha in smoothies, lattes and baking. Yup, baking! I had no idea that anyone even used green tea in baking!
I had recently been craving iced green tea, so I decided to get to work and make some. I even got extra fancy and added honey and lavender!
Oh my goodness, it was soooo yummy!
I did notice by the next day though a lot of the green tea powder had settled to the bottle of the pitcher.
I began reading the package and the recipe book a bit more and realized that this powdered form of the product really works best as a culinary ingredient (hence the baking!). (Don’t get me wrong…I still finished off that delicious pitcher of iced tea!)
Since I’m not much of a baker I decided to try out their suggestion of adding the powder to my smoothie. I actually almost always use a cup of brewed green tea as the liquid in my smoothie so this was right up my alley!
The smoothie definitely had a bit more of an earthy flavor than usual, not in a bad way, just in a noticeable way – as in when I use brewed green tea in my smoothie I don’t even taste it, but with the powder I did (but like I said, I LOVE green tea so I thought it was great!). Since I haven’t experimented with green tea baking yet I’d have to say the smoothie is my favorite way to use this product so far and it definitely adds a nice boost of antioxidants to my morning!
Kiss Me Organics Matcha Green Tea is currently exclusively available on Amazon, but they’ve kindly offered to allow me to give a package away to a Live, Run, Grow reader!

I am LOVING the smoothie idea! And quite frankly am embarrassed that I haven’t put green tea in my smoothies seeing as how I am in a long term relationship with my Vitamix. Cool product! Pick me! 🙂
I love using green tea in my smoothies! I alternate between that and coconut water (or sometimes both!).
I am a total tea hound, mainly hot. Yes, hot tea in Florida. Oh, the humanity!! I can definitely see me throwing this in with my mint protein shakes in the morning. Sounds supper yummy!
Haha, I LOVE hot tea too! I’m a coffee drinker in the morning, but I generally have tea every night!
I love tea but haven’t made the jump to green tea yet. I do drink it on occasion but I love the flavored black teas.
I love all sorts of teas too…I can totally get lost in those tea stores that have all the different blends…mmmm!
I love green tea! And I love baked goods containing green tea! I would love to attempt a green tea cheesecake.
Oh my goodness, that sounds amazing! Will you send me a piece?!?
I drink green tea every morning! And am totally going to borrow the idea of adding to smoothies. I also think muffins could work!
I love it in my smoothies! Plus, I often use frozen fruit in my smoothies, so the frozen fruit + hot tea makes it easier to blend and it come out the perfect temperature!
I drink the crap out of green tea! I want to win! My fave is to make some with local honey and a little coconut milk after my weekend morning long runs. That’s how I’d like to try this tea!
Mmm…coconut milk! I never thought of that in my tea, I’ve always drink my green tea plain or with a touch of honey…I’ll have to try that!
Great review.
Thanks : )
I don’t drink coffee (unless it no longer tastes like coffee) so I LOVE green tea to drink in the morning. I usually like the Lipton Superfruits Green tea because I don’t have to add anything to it (so it’s healthier). I’m thinking a green tea cupcake with tons of different frosting options!
YOU DON’T LIKE COFFEE?!?! Oh my goodness, I LOVE the flavor of coffee! I won’t even drink flavored coffee because I love coffee flavored coffee!
P.S. – when you make those green tea cupcakes I better be getting one!

I only drink tea and the idea of using green tea as a base for my smoothie sounds so tasty. I would love to try the powder form since I have only had green tea as leaves or in a little bag!
I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but I am a big tea drinker, and love green tea! I’ve never seen or heard of it coming in powder form. I like to bake, but never knew you could use green tea as an ingredient, so would love to try it out.
I haven’t bene much of a green tea fan but I have been trying to use it more and more in the last few months and have really liked it! i think learning to bake with it would be awesome and using it as a base in smoothies would be yummy
I enjoy green tea, but haven’t tried Matcha yet.
I love green tea. Haven’t tried Matcha yet… but am very interested too. I have a smoothie most mornings and this would be great in it.
I love having a cup of green tea in the morning! Would love to try this!!
Sounds really yummy for smoothies! I like my green tea in the form of ice cream most of the time 😉

I use Matcha GreenTea in my smoothies and I feel the extra edge all day.
I take my matcha to work and mix it in a cold bottle of water. Just shake and drink. When the powder forms at the bottom just give it another shake. It’s delicious and gives me that desperately needed afternoon pick me up. I also decided to add to my protein shakes which I will try in the morning. Pick me for the tea.
I ordered the tea, but did not receive the10 recipe booklet. I would love how to make other foods with this green tea. Also can you brew this tea just like any other tea, or do you have to brew it a different way. Thanks.
