Today I am sharing with you not only an inspirational quote, but a recommendation for an amazing documentary that I watched tonight, Into the Wind.
If you’re never heard of Terry Fox, he is a Canadian legend. In 1977 at not even 20 years old Fox lost his leg to cancer. 3 years later he set out to run across Canada in an effort to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.
If you haven’t seen Into the Wind I highly recommend it, Terry’s journey in his Marathon of Hope is amazingly inspirational and The Terry Fox Foundation is still very active in Canada and to-date has raised over $600 million for cancer research.
**This movie is available on Netflix if you decide to look for it!
I’m really into running movies recently, any suggestions or favorites??
Incredible.
I remember seeing a documentary on Terry Fox years ago, he is such an amazing soul, so inspirational. Thanks for sharing Danielle! – Simone
I’ve nominated you for The Versatile Blogger award. Read my post about it, and pay it forward! http://wp.me/p3dkwX-13R
Thanks! I have a few posts scheduled so it may take me a bit to do, but I’ll get there!
That’s amazing. I will definitely have to look into it.
I’m a fan of Run for Your Life, the documentary about Fred Lebow and how the NYCM came to be.
That’s a great one too, and I just saw it’s also on Netflix so I’m definitely going to re-watch it soon!
Fantastic story. Very inspirational. Chariots of Fire comes to mind.
I really need to watch Chariots of Fire again soon, I haven’t seen it in ages! Thanks for the reminder!
