I’m not sure that this is “inspiration” so much as a deep thought, but I really loved this quote I found on Pinterest for week.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t feel old (at the ripe “young” age of 31). I personally hate when people my age complain about getting old and being old because I’m usually thinking, “I don’t know what you’re talking about because I’m not old”. And as far as the whole “never ask a lady her age” thing…I could care less, ask away! It’s just a #. (People are usually surprised I’m as old as I am, which really makes me wonder if a) they think I look young or b) they think I act really immature…I like to pretend it’s because I look young.)
So, what brings this up?
The whole going back to school thing has thrust me into a world of 18-21 year year olds and for the first time I’m occasionally finding myself thinking, “oh man…I’m old!”
You know, like when one teacher mentioned Mork and Mindy the other day and I was the only one in the class that knew what she was talking about…or when another teacher asked everyone what grade they were in on September 11th. 4th grade…2nd grade…1ST GRADE!!! Ummm…junior…in college. Yup…I’m old.
But, once I walk out of that room in my head I’m still a kid who loves mismatched socks, eating ice cream, playing dress up with my little cousins and going to Disney (a lot).
And just for the record I plan on staying that way : )
