RECAP (10/22-10/28)
Monday – rest day
Tuesday – 5 mile run
Wednesday – 30 minute pranayama and meditation class, 90 minute yoga class and 90 minute Yamuna class
Thursday – 90 minute yoga class and 60 minutes elliptical
Friday – 3.5 mile run and 90 minute yoga class
Saturday – 8 mile run
Sunday – 10 mile run (had to get in a few miles before Hurricane Sandy gets here!)
After my long run on Cape Cod last weekend where I stopped and took some pictures I was inspired to take a look around me on my local runs…I run right by some really interesting things everyday and never thought to stop and take a closer look! Part of my regular running route along the water was flooded already and I passed several businesses that were sandbagging and boarding up getting ready for the storm!
Yoga – 6.5 hours
Weekly Mileage – 26.5 miles
Monthly Mileage – 99.9 miles (are you kidding me?!?! my goal was 100 miles this month…I’m going to run to get the mail and back right now to get that .01!)
2012 Mileage – 515 miles
Overall – A little more running than I was planning this week which is great! Really trying to make sure I stay hydrated and do as much as I can for quick recovery after long runs (foam rolling, recovery drink, compression pants, etc…).
NEXT WEEK (10/22-10/28)
Probably won’t be getting in much running the next few days with the hurricane coming so I’ll probably supplement it with extra yoga and the elliptical (if we have power…). The Wine & Dine Half Marathon is in less than 2 weeks (SO excited!) and then I really need to kick it in to high gear for Goofy training and start getting in my dreaded 18+ mile runs!
In the meantime we’re prepping for the storm…
Stay safe!
Oh boy – hope everything goes okay with Hurricane Sandy! Be safe.
As for your workouts, wow. You are getting in an amazing amount of yoga and running, and it’s awesome. Now that winter is coming, I’m trying to decide which direction to go with my workouts…whether to do yoga, or keep running, or add in more walks, or something else.
Any thoughts on what you’ll do after the Dopey?
Haha, it’s much easier to get in so much yoga and running when I’m not working full time! After Dopey I’d really love to start training for a triathlon, I have my eye on a few sprint ones on Cape Cod for this summer!
As for your winter workouts, I find that I’m happiest when I’m not doing just one thing, I really like the combination of running and yoga…they’re so different, but compliment each other really well!
I love your hurricane supplies…. Question: what is your backup plan if you lose electricity? 🙂
dad
Back up plan is to play endless rounds of rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spock (from Big Bang Theory…have you seen that one yet?!?) and fetch (with Madison, not Jason!).
ha I would totally run to the mail box to get my mileage to round out!
