Tuesday – 40 minute AB Run (3.1 miles)
Wednesday – rest day
Thursday – 30 minute MSD run (intervals, 2.25 miles) & 30 minutes elliptical
Friday – rest day
Busy day at work “landscaping” my manager’s office though, haha!
Saturday – 45 minute AB Run (3.7 miles) and then lunch at American Girl with Caitlin, Ashley, Jessica & Paige!
Sunday – 2 hour AB run (11 miles)
This run wasn’t terrible, but I definitely kept thinking “holy crap, how on earth did I run a full marathon just a few months ago!” Definietly need to pick up my training BIG TIME when I get back from Disneyland to be ready for Goofy in a few months!
Overall – Got in lots of running! My arches definitely hurt during my long run so I should make sure to roll them out a lot this week leading up to the race (I’m rolling them on golf balls right now under my desk! Shhh…). I also need to remember to drink some Powerade the night before the half too (infact I’m going to set a reminder on my phone now!), pretty sure my electrolites were WAY low on my long run which is probably why I was struggling towards the end.
NEXT WEEK (8/27-9/2)
It’s here, it’s here! DISNEYLAND WEEK! Flight leaves bright and early on Friday morning and we’ll be heading to the race expo as soon as we get there! My mom, sister and I will be doing the Cars Land 5k on Saturday morning and I’ll be doing the half marathon on Sunday morning – I’ll also be getting my runDisney Coast to Coast medal for doing races in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland in the same year!
Until we leave my goal this week is to foam roll A LOT and HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE! I’m also just a few miles away from my “run 80 miles in August” goal I set for myself so hopefully I’ll get in a few runs this week and get there!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK –
“Around here we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things because we’re curious…and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” – Walt Disney
I am so excited to be going to the only Disney park that was actually designed and built while Walt was alive! There just seems to be something magical about that…
Can’t wait!!!!!
