BibRave Product Review – Buff UV Half

Bib Race PicI have to admit that I’ve seen Buff’s for sale in stores before and never really understood the point of the product.  Is it a headband? A sweatband? A neck gator? Why would I need such thing?

When I was offered the opportunity to test one out as part of the BibRave Pro program, I hesitated thinking, “I don’t even get the point of it, why would I want one?”, but I decided to take the opportunity to try it in hopes of answering that exact question.

We were sent the Buff UV Half and were even give the chance to choose what color we wanted (a nice perk since I can be picky about matching!) and there were SO many different colors and prints to choose from!

Buff Pic 2Here’s how Buff describes the product on the packaging:

The original multifunctional headwear.  Wherever you’re going, Buff headwear is your essential outdoor accessory.  It protects your head, neck and face from the elements and tells wind, sun and cold to back off so you can stay out longer and play harder!

Half Buff Features & Benefits:

  • UV Protection
  • Multifunctional
  • 100% seamless
  • Odor resistant
  • Dries quickly
  • Wind resistant
  • Natural Stretch

While there are a TON of different ways to wear and use your Buff listed on the website – everything from under a bike helmet to absorb sweat to around your neck as a gator in the cold/ wind – I have to admit that for me, it became a headband.

And while that may not be the most creative use of such a multifunctional product, for me it’s actually pretty exciting to have any sort of headband that doesn’t give me a headache!

Plantronics 4I’m not sure I’ve talked about my migraines much here on the blog, but let’s just say I get them A LOT and they’re BAD.  And I really can’t wear anything that puts pressure on my head, so all those cute running headbands are out for me.

I was able to comfortably wear the Buff though and it quickly became one of my favorite additions on hot humid runs to keep the sweat out of my eyes or to throw on after a run to control the post-run “crazy hair”!

Like I said, certainly not the most creative use, but I’d give it a thumbs up and will most likely actually order a few of the Buff Headbands (not quite as wide as the Half) to use in the future!
