Today marked one week until the New York City Marathon!
I’m still really nervous about my training for this race (or lack thereof), but fortunately thanks to all of the AMAZING comments on my “New York State of Panic” post and some super awesome twitter friends sharing some tips, advice and experience, I’m at least feeling a bit more confident about the logistics I was worried about.
Tomorrow (Monday 10/27) at noon is our fundraising deadline, so if you’re interested in supporting my run to benefit North Shore Animal League please visit my personal fundraising page! It’s all of these amazingly generous donations and the thought of helping these pets find their fur-ever homes that’s going to help get me through these 26.2 miles next weekend!
Monday – rest day
Tuesday – 3 miles (Marathon Sports Mashpee run club)
Wednesday – foam rolling & stretching
Thursday – none
Friday – 3 mile run
Saturday – none (LOTS of standing between volunteering at a water stop & working at the expo!)
Jason and I spent Saturday morning volunteering at a water stop at the Cape Cod Half Marathon! It was such a gorgeous day and we had a blast hydrating and cheering on all the runners!
Sunday – 3 miles, stretching & foam rolling
Weekly Mileage – 9 miles
2014 Mileage – 570 miles
Well, this time next week I’ll (hopefully!) be done with the New York City Marathon! I’m really not sure what to expect, I know my training wasn’t what I had hoped and I don’t feel as prepared as I’d like, but I’m hoping that race day adrenaline will do it’s thing and carry me through the 5 boroughs of New York City!
