Weekly Training Recap

Today marked one week until the New York City Marathon!

I’m still really nervous about my training for this race (or lack thereof), but fortunately thanks to all of the AMAZING comments on my “New York State of Panic” post and some super awesome twitter friends sharing some tips, advice and experience, I’m at least feeling a bit more confident about the logistics I was worried about.

Tomorrow (Monday 10/27) at noon is our fundraising deadline, so if you’re interested in supporting my run to benefit North Shore Animal League please visit my personal fundraising page!  It’s all of these amazingly generous donations and the thought of helping these pets find their fur-ever homes that’s going to help get me through these 26.2 miles next weekend!

OVERALL

Well, this time next week I’ll (hopefully!) be done with the New York City Marathon!  I’m really not sure what to expect, I know my training wasn’t what I had hoped and I don’t feel as prepared as I’d like, but I’m hoping that race day adrenaline will do it’s thing and carry me through the 5 boroughs of New York City!

Anyone going to be in NYC for the marathon??

Let me know where you’re going to be so I can wave hi!

  1. Yeah! I’m so excited for you and know it’s going to be great! Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be in the city next weekend, but I’ll be cheering for you and look forward to hearing all about it. Good luck good luck good luck!

  2. You are strong mentally Danielle and will have a good race. It is supposed to be a great marathon and I will be virtually cheering for you from the comfort of my home! 🙂

  3. Go out there and crush it! And when in doubt, just have fun. It’s an incredible race and possibly my all-time favorite or tied for my all-time favorite. The crowd support is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. But then again, I love NYC and you don’t. So there’s that 🙂

    • Haha, I know, I think a lot of my anxiety is because I a, so glad to finally be OUT of New York, that I really can’t manage to get myself excited to go back there…even if it’s just for a weekend!

I’m trying to not be so negative, it’s stressing me out so much and I know I’m totally doing it to myself – I just can’t manage to get out of my own head!

Leave a Thought!
