Today is my favorite day of the year – Cape Cod Day! Madison and I drove up to Cape Cod today and will be staying ALL OF JULY! Yay! Jason has to work this week unfortunately, but he’ll be joining us on Friday and then we can really get our summer started!
Be ready for me to bombard you with all our Cape Cod adventures like paddle-board tours, scenic runs and hopefully a whale watch!
RECAP (6/23-6/29)
Monday – 3 mile run & 30 minutes elliptical
Tuesday – 90 minute yoga class & 1 mile run (to test out my new Altra sneakers!)
This is my first time running in a zero drop shoe, I’m liking them a lot so far! Review coming soon!
**Altra is a sponsor of the Zooma race series and as an ambassador I was sent these sneakers to check out!**
Wednesday – 75 minute yoga class & 3 mile run
Thursday – rest day
Friday – 3 mile run/ walk with Jason
Saturday – rest day
Sunday – 8 mile run
Weekly Mileage – 18 miles
2014 Mileage -295 miles
OVERALL
My running still isn’t where I’d like it to be. Sunday’s run was supposed to be 10 miles but I was really struggling and against my better judgement I cut the run short. Of course afterwards I totally regretting doing that – certainly no way to kick off marathon training!
NEXT WEEK
Now that I’m on Cape Cod I’m looking forward to doing some yoga on the beach and a change of scenery for my runs (hopefully that’ll help get me motivated!). I’m also hoping to make regular trips to the local farmers market and get out on my paddle-board a lot!
MARATHON TRAINING WEEK 2
Monday – rest / drive to Cape Cod
Tuesday – run (3 miles speed)
Wednesday – yoga
Thursday – run (5 miles tempo)
Friday – cross train
Saturday – rest day
Sunday – run (10 miles long)
Cutest passenger ever.
: )
Does Madison swim or just look at you in the water like he doesn’t know who you are?
Haha, well she loves to swim in my moms pool but we’ve never let her try the ocean, the water can be rough up here and she’s so little!
I love Madison’s “don’t forget me” look. Have fun at the Cape!
Thanks Lesley!
Man, I wish I could spend an entire month on the Cape! Enjoy!
Thanks, I’m so excited!
Enjoy the Cape! I’m jealous 🙂 Looking forward to your shoe review too!
I love cape cod…I just signed up for a race there cant wait
Awesome! Which race are you doing??
There is one called Gulf Beach and I am sure I will do the Hyannis half
Happy Cape Codding! Sounds amazing.
Don’t worry about cutting the run short. In the grand scheme of things, those two miles won’t make or break you 🙂
Happy Cape Cod!!! And your co-pilot is a love. I’ll be in the Cape in 4 short weeks! Yippee!!!
