Weekly Training Recap

RECAP (2/11-2/17 )

Monday – 1 hour bootcamp class and 45 minutes on the elliptical

Tuesday – 90 minute yoga class

Wednesday – 5 mile interval run (.5 mile hard / .25 mile recovery)

My “hard” intervals were around 8:45 min/mile and the “recovery” intervals were around 10 min/mile.  Definitely looking forward to more speed work and seeing how it improves my times!

Thursday – studying/ test / work (no time!)


Friday – lazy day

Saturday -10 mile run, 30 minute elliptical cool down

Pretty happy with this pace, to PR a half marathon I need to run a 9:34 pace and this was my first long run since the marathon so I’m hoping with a bit of speed work I’ll be ready to try for a PR at the NYC 13.1 at the end of March!

2.16 Run

Sunday – rest

Yoga – 1.5 hours

Weekly Mileage –  15 miles 

Monthly Mileage –  26 miles

2013 Mileage – 92 miles

Overall – I was happy with my long run (and that I got one in!), but I had a few too many rest/ lazy/ study days!

NEXT WEEK (2/18-2/24)

I’m seriously considering registering for another marathon that is in just a few months (in fact the registration screen is open on my computer right now!), if I decide to do it I really need to start on a training plan this week.  I’m planning on continuing to incorporate 1 day of speed work a week in to my training plan.
