First Day of School

I just got back from a morning yoga class and I’m sitting here having a coffee and some yogurt getting ready to head to school.

Yes, today is my first day of going back to school!  (If you’re a new follower and aren’t familiar with my “5 Year Plan” you can read about it HERE, otherwise I can give you the abbreviated version: left my full time job in September to go back to school for physical therapy, starting a year and a half of pre-requisite classes today and then I’ll apply to a 3 year PT doctorate program!)

This semester I’m taking biology, chemistry and psychology and I’m also hoping to study for and take the GRE’s and begin my 50-100 hours of observation in a PT setting.

I’m not quite sure what I’m feeling right now.  I’m nervous.  I’m excited.  I’m overwhelmed by the thought of dedicating myself to working towards a goal that is going to take me 5 years.

And with that, I’m off to school…wish me luck!

  1. Good luck! And when GRE time comes around, even though its expensive to take a GRE prep class, THEY ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY! I’m definitely stronger in math than english, but the class helped me SMOKE the math and do adequate in verbal (thank the GRE ppl for taking out analogies for your sake, I had to deal with those, weakest part since I don’t use big english literature words on a regular basis being a scientist, but I would totally smoke the technical words if they ever started to test for them!)

      • I took GRE prep through Kaplan where you go in once or twice a week for a month, but also have LOADS of online course material to practice over and over. Even 3-4 different full ‘tests’ to practice as well as numerous sections. So that had both. It was about 1200, but I also got a slight discount since they were doing a promotion at my univeristy, so it was just about 1000

  2. Good luck!! Personally, I cringe at your schedule (I am soo not a science person). 🙂 It is so impressive how you are going after your dreams!

    • Thanks Emily! Honestly science’s aren’t really my strength either, but I feel like now that I have a goal in mind and a reason to be taking them maybe I’ll be more motivated!
