Weekly Training Recap

Definitely slacking on the blog-front this week!  Between getting back from Disney, studying for and taking my yoga final and finishing up Christmas shopping I just never got around to posting at all this week – oh well!

RECAP (12/17-12/23)

Monday – walking around Disney and flight home : (

Tuesday – 3 mile run

Wednesday – 45 minutes on the elliptical while studying for my yoga final!

Thursday – 1 hour yoga class and Yoga Teacher Training Final!

Friday – migraine, out of commission all day!

Santa came by on the firetruck while we were packing the car to head up to my mom’s for the holidays, I love that my town does this!  We go running outside every year when we hear the sirens and Christmas music coming!

Holiday Firemen

Saturday – 10 mile run, stretching and foam rolling

Sunday – 20 mile run, stretching and foam rolling

Yoga/ Stretching – 1 hour class + at home stretching and rolling

Weekly Mileage –  33 miles

HBBC Points –   58 points

Monthly Mileage – 80 miles

2012 Mileage – 700 miles (yeah!  officially reached my goal of 700 miles for 2012!)

Overall

Definitely not enough yoga this week!  I basically locked myself to the kitchen table studying for my yoga test and didn’t even take a break to go to yoga…oops.  Good news is I think I did well on my yoga final so hopefully it was worth it!  As far as running goes I finished my last back-to-back long runs for Goofy training and it’s taper time!  The 20 miler didn’t feel quite as good as last time (I was so tired and it was FREEZING out!), but it was still better than last year’s 20 mile runs!

Saturday night we went to see Bright Nights – it’s a great holiday light display in Forrest Park in Springfield, Massachusetts.  Since Dr. Seuss and Milton Bradley are from the area many of the lights are themed towards them.  It’s a lot of fun to drive through and we pile the dogs into the car to come with us – my sister’s dog Abby (below) was really looking at all the lights!

Bright Nights

NEXT WEEK (12/24-12/30)

The next few weeks leading up to Goofy will definitely include a lot of yoga, stretching and foam rolling…I can’t believe the race is less than 3 weeks away!

  1. Amazing mileage for the month and 2012! I just started back to back runs to train for my first 50 miler. They’re tough but my body seems to be slowly adapting.

You’re going to rock the Goofy!
