I’m going to Disney World! (and a Giveaway!)

Well, I’m done with my yoga teacher certification practical (and I think it went really well!), so what’s next?

I’M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!

No, really! By the time you’re reading this I’m either crawling in to bed at Saratoga Springs or up and on my way to the Magic Kingdom!

I know I haven’t mentioned this trip at all, but that’s because the stars needed to align just right for it to happen and it could have been scrapped right up until we got on the plane! Long story short, my husband and I have always wanted to visit Disney during the holidays to see the decorations and shows, but working in professional hockey trips between September-May really weren’t an option. Well, this year with the NHL lockout we began thinking maybe, just maybe if the lockout went into December we could plan a last minute trip and go! So, we’re on our way!

Can’t wait to see our friends Mickey and Minnie!

We have a busy trip planned since we’re hoping to see ALL THINGS HOLIDAY in just a few days (because who knows when we’ll be able to make another holiday trip!). Friday night we’re going to see the Osboure Lights at Hollywood Studios (which I got to see during the Wine & Dine Half Marathon), Saturday night is the Candlelight Processional at Epcot and Sunday we’ll be going to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom…I am SO excited you have no idea!

Don’t worry, I’ll share lots of pictures when I get back (or you can follow me on twitter and instagram for live updates!).

  1. Definitely Mickey Mouse ice cream! When I retire from teaching my dream job is to sell MM ice cream in the Magic Kingdom!

  2. Hmmm… fave Disney snack? I’d have to say Dole Whip – by which I mean the pineapple flavor. Vanilla “Dole” Whip isn’t really “Dole” related!

  3. I will run the Princess Half for a cool Mickey Bar! And I’m going to have my first Dole Whip on February 22, 2013! Maybe I’ll run for a Mickey Bar AND a Dole Whip 😉

  4. Dole Whips are nice, but I always go for the Pineapple Float… It’s a snack and a tasty beverage in one! Also a fan of the Tie-Dyed Cheesecakes in Pop Century and those giant Rice Krispy Treats covered in goodness. Mmmmm… Good thing I’m running the Marathon next month!

  5. I liked the page on facebook!

(btw, so jealous of the trip to Disney! My fiance is a teacher, so it’s just too expensive during his time off in the holiday season :/ )

  6. I hope you have a great trip! I’m sad the marathon weekend is a little later this year as we’ll miss all of the holiday decorations. I can’t win since I live in Canada 😦 but I absolutely love me some Dole Whips! I’ll be eating a few of those after I’m done the Goofy Challenge!

  7. Great post you will love Disney at Christmas. It is my favorite time of year to go. As for my favorite snack, it would have to be a tie between a classic Mickey ice cream bar and a salted chocolate caramel from Karamel Kuche in Germany.

  8. If it’s not a pretzel with cheese (which it usually is) than it’s the shaved ice in Japan at EPCOT! I got it every time! So yummy.

PS- I haven’t introduced myself to you yet, but I’m Natalie and I’m on the Greatist ambassador team too AND I used to work at Disney World! I’m mightily obsessed with the mouse, and was excited to see someone else on the team was too! So…hi! Have a wonderful trip 🙂

    • Hi Natalie, so nice to “meet” you! I am totally Disney obsessed and SO excited to get to see all the holiday stuff this year! Do you do any of the runDisney events at all???

P.S. one of my husband’s favorite snacks is the Japan shave ice too!

  9. My favorite Disney treat has always been dole whips!! The cool ice cream with the tart OJ, fantastic. And as a kid there was no better place to enjoy it than right by the Swiss family Robinson tree house!!!

  11. There are so many great treats at WDW, how could I possibly choose? Recently, I tried the caramel corn at the store in Germany at Epcot and it was FABULOUS!!!!

  12. I hope you guy’s are haveing a wonderful time. I can’t wait to see the pic’s. We ‘ve been to see the lights a few years back and with the 3D glasses it really a great effect . Really a memory to hold on to. Again glad it came together with the strike and all. Things do happen sometimes for the better.
