Newsies to Run Around the World!

New York – A group of Newsies will be heading to Orlando, Florida later this week to begin a run around The World to spread the message about their successful New York City strike against unfair child labor wages “Once and For All”.
The group of 5 Newsie ambassadors will be “Carrying the Banner” to countries such as Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Morocco, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada where they hope to raise awareness as well as sample some of the local cuisine.
The Newsie representatives who hail from New York, New Jersey and Boston say that their hope is that “The World Will Know” how “wrongs will be righted, if we’re united”. They want to encourage others around the world to stand up for what they believe in and “Seize the Day!”.
The Newsies run around the (Disney) World campaign will kick of this Friday morning, January 10th at 5:30am with the runDisney 10k. Even with the predicted high temperatures they look forward to the challenge and hope to meet other runners who share their passion along the way.

Ahh! I hadn’t checked the weather yet! It’s like last year all over again. I was debating a costume that requires a wig, but planned a wigless backup too. Backup costume it is! I just hope it doesn’t rain.

I know I said this already, but I LOVE this costume idea! So many Newsies references to make, so little time! (BTW, one of my Christmas presents from Doug was to see the play again…so excited!)
